Inside Scrapbooking pokes around a touchy subject: the differences between those who labor over original pages and those who scrap speedily along, copying layouts if they need to. This is a subject that I've often wondered about, as the divide can be seen in other hobbies/industries. From the site:
The vastness of the divide between these two philosophies becomes apparent fairly quickly to anyone who spends much time in online communities devoted to scrapbooking. Almost inevitably, professional aspirations get greeted by some scrapbookers with the response of “remember why you are really doing this – for your family” and conversations of copying layouts from magazines to get done quickly receive responses from certain scrappers of “Why would you want to do that? That misses the whole point of scrapping if you copy someone else’s work!”
Once again, great reading (and writing) from Nancy!
